Theodora ‘Teddy’ Rose Williams

Not long after his daughter Theodora “Teddy” Rose Williams was born, rabble-rousing singer Robbie Williams admitted in radio interviews that he had his doubts about having children. He said he was scared about being “a selfish guy” and worried that he “wouldn’t bond, change nappies or be paternal.”

But his fears were cast aside when Teddy arrived on September 18, 2012, and he realized that inside the former wild child was a loving and caring father all along.

World traveller

Little Teddy is still too young to understand the impact she has had on her famous father. Gone are the days when Robbie, who rose to fame in the boy band Take That, would party until dawn and abuse drugs and alcohol. The 39-year-old’s transformation throughout the past several years seems to have been cemented with his marriage to Turkish-American actress Ayda Field and the birth of their daughter: “I love [Teddy], I love our home, it’s full of love right now. It’s a very special place to be and it’s a very special time in our life, it’s awesome, and I want more!”

The family of three is all smiles, appearing to have a good time whether they are on holiday in Italy, leaving the airport after a long-haul flight or simply out and about on an errand. 1-year-old Teddy, who is said to just be learning to walk and talk, is always spotted tucked safely in the arms of mum and dad or snuggled in a pushchair.

She may be young, but Teddy has already experienced life on both sides of the pond. But don’t think this budding world traveller is on her way to being spoiled. “I’m a bit of a stickler for manners,” Robbie declared in a radio interview. “‘Yes’ and ‘please’ and not taking the mickey. But taking the mickey in a cheeky way, which is great. I’ll teach her how to do that, no doubt, but I can’t abide rude kids.”

‘Go Gentle’

This celebrity baby, who has a mop of brown hair just like her parents, is quite the source of inspiration for her pap. The singer released a single in October written for Teddy called Go Gentle, in which he offers his daughter advice on how to deal with the people she will meet throughout her life. The song has hovered around number 12 on the UK music charts ever since.

“For all your days and nights / I’m gonna be there / I’m gonna be there yes I will / Go gentle through your life,” the singer belts during the upbeat tune.

And what does Teddy think of the song? “I think she liked it, then she threw up,” Robbie wrote on his blog. Don’t worry, Robbie. She may be too young now, but she’ll appreciate the gesture when she’s older!
